Mr. Dawson has served as Controller of GB Capital Ltd., a Canadian investment management and advisory firm, since October 2025, overseeing financial operations, M&A due diligence, structuring, accounting, reporting, and controllership across its portfolio companies. From October 2023 to September 2025, he was a Manager at KPMG Canada, leading large Canadian and global engagements. From January 2019 to March 2022, he worked in KPMG South Africa’s Financial Services and Financial Engineering Group, rising to Assistant Manager and gaining expertise in complex financial instruments, derivative valuations, and structured transactions for major financial institutions and JSE-listed groups. Mr. Dawson holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting Science (Certificate in the Theory of Accounting) from the University of Johannesburg and a Bachelor of Commercial Financial Accounting from Stellenbosch University. He originally qualified as a Chartered Accountant with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) and currently holds a CPA designation with the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia (CPABC).
